Getting Settled

Sadly, I have no new Scottish adventures to share at the current time.  Well, that’s not entirely true.  I did attend my first ever Dons match, I started twice weekly golf lessons, moved out of our temp housing, and bought a car.  But besides that, it’s been nothing but unpacking and trying to get my life in order.  I promise to blog about those things in the next few days…

Just finally today the movers returned to pick up all the boxes that were left behind…

Literally, a room full of boxes...

Literally, a room full of boxes…

There’s still lots to do (unfortunately) but we’re getting there.

To top it all off, I’m sick!  Not sick as a dog or anything, but sick.  It’s been almost a week now.  I thought I’d just lay low for a few days and let it pass, but it’s not passing.  Thus, I have not been running or working out or anything (other than golf…which did leave quite sore, but I’m not really sure if that counts as a workout) and I’m going insane/panicking my ass off that I need to really be running at least 4 days a week now to get my body used to the grind.  Well, I found some old antibiotics and decided to start taking those once or twice a day…hopefully I improve quickly.

Not that any running can be done today as it dumps buckets and there’s gale force winds.  I was told it never pours, just rains lightly…and never heard a damn thing about wind here.  What the hell Scotland?

But speaking of medicine…now that we’re in our home there’s a massive list of things to get settled.

  • Internet
  • TV
  • Get boxes picked up
  • Register for Doctors
  • Get Stella a Vet
  • Get house in order which means buying a bunch of stuff: (coffee maker, toaster, boot dryer, shoe rack, extension cords, food…)

Okay, not THAT massive…but I also need to figure out the details for our trip this weekend, buy plane tickets home for Christmas, and plane tickets for a little early December long weekend in Vienna.  Woe is me, right?
